Meeting called to order at 7p

  • Introduction of officers and precinct chairs.
  • Candidates running for office introduced.  Candidates running for Congressional District 21 including Kopser, Perri, and Wilson; Congressional District 25 including Chatham Panda and Kathi Thomas; State Representative District 47 including Sherry Soltes and Will Simpson; and Justice of the Peace candidates Susan Steeg and Sylvia Holmes; and congressional candidates Maya Guerra Gamble and Greg Hitt.
  • Texas Agriculture Commissioner Candidate Kim Olson introduced and given the floor to speak for several minutes.  She discussed the importance of the position and her background
  • An announcement was made about a Hays County LBJ fiesta from 3-6 on August 27 in Kyle
  • Carrie Collier Brown presented a report containing the balance of the club’s account and a proposed plan to hold a club social and fundraiser event.  The report outlined proposed expenditure amounts, estimated earnings, and requested a motion to approve the Board’s plan to spend the money from the club account required for holding the event.  The motion to give the board authority to spend money to hold the event was approved.
  • Rich DePalma introduced to speak about upcoming election on AISD school bond.
    • Discussed the content of the bond proposal,
    • The process through which the proposal came together,
    • The condition of Austin schools. and
    • Recapture.
    • Rich then answered questions about the need and land reality of a Southwest high school, and
    • The relative equitability of this bond proposal
